Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

A final (?) trip away before almost all countries close down again with Covid levels rising quickly again! I flew to Košice and had a night there before meeting others for the invite only 131 tour from Spišská Nová Ves to Východná with “heritage” livery 131.001 & 131.002. After the outward run it was time (very sadly) to leave Slovakia with Covid restrictions coming in for us and go into Poland for at least one week. We took the Žilina - Zwardoń - Katowice - Gdynia train which was currently getting a new PKP Griffin from Zwardoń due to driver training duties. I stayed in Zabrze for one night and then moved on to Wrocław for the next two nights. This is still a very good area for elderly EU/EP07 power and over my time there I got five winners and also finally found EP09-020 to clear the class. I took EP08-001 to Zielona Góra on the Tuesday night. Early start next morning to do the diesel hauled TLK via Żary and Żagań as far as Legnica and then made my way to Poznań via Rzepin and Kostrzyn without any winners. I started with the orange beast again for a good run to Kutno and then finally got 370-005 in the book and after a long wait at Konin then did required EU160-001 back to Poznań via Franowo yards. I took a DMU to Wolsztyn for Pt47-65 to Zbąszynek and new EU160-024 back to Poznań. As Poland was now on the UK banned list I had to move on into Germany for a week, but first a run with required EP07-1013 to Moglino and then back to Poznań and EIC246 with 193.622 to Berlin. I filled in to Südkreuz with a new ICE1 and then another to Halle to cover the 143 action picking up one new but not low numbered 143.012 sadly. I stayed in Leipzig for four nights as it was convenient as I was now on local regional tickets. Over the days there I did new branches to Tangermünde, Pößneck unt Bf and Querfurt. I then moved up to Hamburg for two night and finally got all my Metronom 146s and made a start on the 246s which took me back onto the old 220 stamping grounds of the trips made between 1982-84 with many trips on the line to Cuxhaven. New track was done between Buxtehude and Hesedorf (one stop before Bremervörde) as in 1984 the DB service ran from Bremerhaven - Stade. I dated a DB freebie ticket on the Thursday to have a day on the Westerland line but bad weather and farces only saw me get as far as Husum before pulling out and I went to Hannover for the last night of the trip. We did an IC to Berlin the next morning and a few moves in the Berlin area before our flight back to East Midlands
