Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

A twelve day trip to Malaysia and Thailand, we flew out with Lufthansa via Frankfurt/M with 747 power for the ultra long light. One night in Singapura and then we started a few nights on the jungle railway up towards Tumpat chasing Indian YDM4 Alcos which worked almost all of the trains. We stayed at Gua Masang, Kuala Lipis for two nights and then one night in Tumpat. We took a taxi to the border and then Trishaws to Sungai Kolok station to start our travels in Thailand. We stayed two nights in Hat Yai with the full day was on the main line on local trains with the old GE Shovel Noses, their twin Cummins engines sounding rather good. We then made our way back to Malaysia via Padang Besar and Butterworth and then KTM GT18 power to Kaula Lumpur. After a tourist day in Kaula Lumpur (lots Monkey action in the Batu Caves) we returned to the Jungle railway and another night in Kuala Lipis. It was then back to Singapura and our flight back home
