Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

Yet another PTG Tours visit to Alaska started with an Air Canada Dreamliner (787-9) flight to Vancouver for one night in town. We took Amtrak to Seattle next morning with Genesis power for few hours and an evening flight north to Fairbanks. We had a tourist day in the far north with a visit to the Fountainhead Car museum and then Pioneer Park. Next day we took "Denali Star" for our long luxurious ride south to Anchorage via Denali and Talkeetna. The next day we went to Spencer Glacier, the second day was an organised shed visit in Anchorage and then Seward with a cruise. On the Wednesday we flew to Juneau where we stopped off at the Salmon Hatchery as this is an excellent place to see Bald Eagles. Next morning we had to revert to catamaran power again as the AMRS went on strike! We stopped off in Haines for a few hours and then did the fast Ferry over to Skagway. We had four nights in this incredible magical town, rail activities included 73 on Fraser Loop excursion, an all day round trip to Carcross and a Summit Excursion with via the new Divide loop! The final day was train 23 to Fraser and then bus to Whitehorse for one night and then a flight Vancouver for one night. Final day and I went into town and took the Seabus over to Lonsdale Quay and then did all the Skytrain system. Finally the usual exhausting flight back over the Atlantic and a big dose of jet lag!
