Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

My fourth trip to Israel for some winter sunshine and Prima power on the fantastic railways and as always some new track had been opened since our last visit two years ago! We flew with easyJet from Luton, perfectly timed flight as arrival is just when trains start running on the Saturday evening. This time we had to endure bus into town due to engineering works but it only took twenty minutes so not too bad. We loaded our tickets on the Rav card found our apartment and got ready for usual early starts. First objective on the Sunday morning was to head north to Binyamina to pick up Sundays only train 1017 which does freight lines on its way around Tel Aviv and we got off at Lod. I then repeated some of the rack with class leader 731 to Ra’anana - West and then I went to Ben Gurion Airport to do the new electrified line to Jerusalem-Yitzhak Navon, two round trips to cover the three diagrams. As two of the three turns to Beit Shemish were hauled I had a run there as I’d only done once in the dark a couple of years ago on the one minute connection on my last visit. The next few days were riding around and taking photos until the rain arrived mid week. On the Friday there were two other interesting trains bypassing the main Tel Aviv city line allowing four freight curves to be done before we had to head to the airport and flight back home
