Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

A short weekend in the Netherlands to make use of the NS OV-Chipkaart that I eventually managed to buy with the €39 August weekend deal, I (eventually) flew to Eindhoven after a three hour delay with Ryanair! Bus into town and a quick trip to Tilburg and back, but netted two new 186s. Next day was a full day getting value out of my ticket, so up and out on the first hauled train, thanks to Treinradar I was able to line up three more 186 on my way up to Amsterdam, they were all following each other and gave me a nice connection into 1780 on an IC to Enkhuizen. I had about an hour there enjoying this lovely location and then returned on 1731 back to Amsterdam. After a quick fill in to Schiphol and a Berlin bound IC to Amersfoort and then a proper look at the 17s on the Utrecht - Baarn service, being a weekend there were only two sets out rather than three on weekdays. Soest offered to best remote location set in a lovely village. Once back at Baarn the plan of returning via Amersfoort on the next IC from Berlin was scuppered when it was shown as an hour late, so EMU instead. I got a salad and the ICD to Rotterdam - at least that was the plan until we stopped about fifteen kilometres short near the village of Moerkapelle and returned to Schiphol! Apparently there was a fire in a tunnel so the line was closed. There was lots of digging going on so the only alternative route was to Rotterdam via Utrecht! So a very late finish! Up to Rotterdam next morning and I found 2805 on the next Bruxelles IC, so took it to Dordrecht and then slowly made my way to Eindhoven for flight home, only one hour late this time!
