Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

It was just under three weeks had passed since my last trip to Los Angeles chasing the BNSF locos on Metrolink and still there were decent numbers of locos in service so another trip was quickly booked, using BA from Manchester again and then A380 power direct from Heathrow. I managed a nice quick exit from customs and the sight of three BNSF locos all ready to leave certainly made the long flight well worth it. I stayed in Fullerton again and the hotel there gave me a good price for being a loyal returning customer. I bought two consecutive Lancaster - Riverside-Downtown weekly tickets for $117.25 as it was only a few dollars more than the previous Bob Hope ticket and it gave more flexibility if only a few locos were out. The numbers slowly went down from about twelve a day to the end of the visit when only two locos remained on stock. Weekend engineering work meant vastly reduced trains via Fullerton but it was known about in advance. Thankfully at least one loco was out "off peak" every day allowing some travelling almost right up until the end of my third visit. Los Angeles and Metrolink will feel very bland in the future without the big orange BNSF "Pumpkin" power!
