Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

Another return trip to Los Angeles soon got planned after the last one, the sights and sounds of the big BNSF AC4400CW GE locos on Los Angeles Metrolink services was simply too much to resist! I flew from Manchester - Heathrow and then a nice comfortable A380 for the long flog over the Atlantic. The exit from LAX airport was slow as always but I made it and took the Flyaway bus straight into town, and a short walk to Metro Plaza hotel for one night. Next morning I bought a one week season ticket valid from East Ventura to Riverside-Downtown, I did this as I'd booked three nights at East Ventura, it was required track and the Victoria Motel was quite a good price. As usual every day was spending as much time as possible on the move with the big GE power, and thankfully both the locos I missed last time were now active. I picked up 5615 coming in from Pomona-North on the Tuesday and the next day got hold of 5643 coming in at Claremont after a quick visit to my favourite café. The stays at East Ventura were interesting as the last one is and first one out used different routes. On the Friday I made my second trip to Perris-South, this time it was 32c, last time 41c! Once back at Riverside-Downtown I had a good view of a few passing freights from the steps on the footbridge. I then made my way to Fullerton where I was staying for the next ten nights. The Saturday was spent concentrating on the Oceanside trains, but 894 was out alone being a nuisance as no premier GE on the back. On the Sunday I did another trip to Lancaster as 5607 was out and made a good day trip, then we went to Orange and had a wander into the nice town centre. The next week started with another week of GE chasing using a Moorpark - Riverside-Downtown weekly ticket. On the Tuesday another trip to Perris-South, this time 19c - much nicer! As the week moved on more UK fans arrived in town for the BNSF gala. Thankfully the weekend produced GE both on both the Los Angeles - Oceanside turns, so much of it was on those. My last day was the Monday and as I was ready to leave the elusive 5656 which I'd only had once on last trip came out on easier turns to cover. Will I make a third trip I wonder …
