Welcome to "Phil's Loco Photos"

A three week InterRail started with my usual overnight flight to Athina, hard to believe the standard gauge was all now plastic ADtranz junk, so we were there purely for the Alco power on the narrow gauge. First day was a trip out to Agh Theodori and back with the little orange beasts. A full day or orange action the next day ending up in Patra C for one night, back in next day. A trip up to Thive to meet my driver fiend and then back to the hotel and next day a pair to Eghio and a single back to Athina. My final day was train 300 all the way to Kiparissia and then back to Patra C and then the ferry to Brindisi. Once on the rails I went down to Leece and then north overnight to Bologna and on to Milano and then into Switzerland via Brig. I managed two BLS Re465 as they had regular main line work and a Re6/6 before Sybic 26213 from Bâle - Strasbourg and D263 to Wien with through 103 power from Stuttgart. I had five further 103s during the day as the class were starting to get withdrawn so doing them on such premier trains in Austria was certainly a highlight! I did EN228 out to Leipzig and then to Halle and up to Lübeck where I got my last Rostock 234. EN491 back to St Pölten with 103 and another to Passau for a new 1044 diagram from there to München on DB double deck stock! Did D1561/1506 to Leipzig for a diesel day and ended up on D1666 with 127.001 blitzing back to München. Another ÖBB day briefly into Hungary and D248 to Innsbruck, over Arlberg through SBB and overnight from Genève - Cerbère and a few old electrics before Talgo to Zaragoza via Barcelona. D573 to Madrid and then the Sud Expess to Lisboa for a day around Barreiro, then south to Faro. Blue Train to Porto and then the PTG 1501 tour to Pocinho over two days. Finished with a DMU to Vigo for 333 power to Madrid, Lorca and Cartagena then flight home next day
